In-Vehicle Breathalyzer System (non-App based)
$600.00 – $800.00Price range: $600.00 through $800.00
The ALC-303 voluntary vehicle ignition interlock system has a fuel-cell breathalyzer mounted to the dash to complete a breath test. The driver does not use a smartphone App to start the vehicle like the CheckBAC Drive system here. You also own the hardware so there is not a 3rd party “monitoring” company with hidden fees. Activity and usage data are available to whomever is setup as the admin and can be accessed online or via the admin smartphone App.
The first step is to purchase the hardware that comes with the user manual and wiring instructions. A welcome email is also sent with a link to start your subscription if you require the camera features and real-time alerts.
No Contract needed. Subscription billed monthly.
One passed breath test is required to start the vehicle every time.
The Admin can set the BAC level between 0.01% – 0.05%.
Random rolling tests are available (not required) and this feature can be turned on and off via the admin dashboard.
1st test 5 – 15 minutes after vehicle started, then randomly between 20 – 40 minutes forever.
Bypass “Valet Mode”
The Admin can turn the system on/off with a smartphone App that connects via Bluetooth when in proximity with the vehicle. A mechanic can be setup with the smartphone App to easily disable the system.
Optional $40.00 per month Subscription (required for the camera):
- Forward facing camera.
- Rear facing camera.
- Driver facing camera to confirm identity.
- Monitor Receives real-time alerts (text/email).
- Continuous GPS vehicle tracking.
The driver facing camera captures 15 seconds of video each time a test is completed and uploads the data using a T-Mobile SIM card. The Admin can view the driver in real-time via the online web platform.
Real-Time Alerts
The Admin can receive text/email alerts when a failed breath test occurs or in the event of a missed rolling test.
GPS Tracking
The camera add-on allows for continuous GPS vehicle tracking with a ping every 30 seconds while driving and every 15 minutes while parked.
Vehicle Installation
A mechanic or car audio/alarm business can perform the installation because the hardware that goes into the vehicle is fairly low-tech. A detailed wiring diagram is provided after purchase. We suggest taking the hardware and instructions to the business you want to work with and they can call Think Twice with questions if needed.
Key Start: estimate $100 – $150 install cost.
Push Start: estimate $200 – $300 install cost.
Electric Vehicle: confirm prior to placing an order.
Calibration
$40.00 for a newly calibrated head unit to be mailed and the old one returned. This is recommended every 12 months or 2,000 uses.
